Spectrum 2006 Fact Sheet With help from our generous donors, during the past year Spectrum has worked in our community to help: - 142 young people find safety in our emergency youth shelter in Burlington, by providing 1795 nights of safe housing
- 445 teens with their substance abuse and mental health problems
- 118 young people with tutoring and support to reach their educational goals, including high school diploma, GED, and college enrollment
- 57 youth in their search for employment, including activities such as job readiness training, interview skills, career exploration, resume writing, and job development
- 190 teens with learning independent living skills to prepare them to transition from foster care
- 63 youth in competency classes or victim impact groups, conflict resolution, interventions for petty delinquency and legal clinic in our Juvenile Justice programs in Burlington
- 314 young people access medical care through 1,884 visits at our adolescent health clinic
- 525 young men, adult males and fathers through our Domestic Abuse Education Project operating in 9 counties throughout the state
- 644 youth visited our drop-in center; to meet basic needs for food, clothing, crisis assistance, and/or to participate in healthy activities
- 525 youth contacted through street outreach program
