JOBS The Chittenden County JOBS Program is a collaborative effort among Spectrum Youth and Family Services, The Baird Center for Children and Families, and Vocational Rehabilitation. The program provides youth, ages 16-21, comprehensive, integrated case management services, with the goal of successful, competitive employment. The youth served have been identified as having an emotional and/or behavioral disability and are in need of extra support and services to obtain and maintain a job.
The goal of the JOBS Program is to improve the social and employment functioning outcomes for youth in transition. We work to: - increase community integration for youth
- provide a continuum of transitional support for youth who are "aging out" of the children's mental health and/or foster care service systems
- increase productive collaboration among school, youth, and adult service systems
- help youth secure paid employment
The services provided include: - assessment and consultation,
- care coordination and resource referral
- independent living skills training
- supportive counseling
- job development and individualized job placement
We believe that a positive work experience is crucial to boost our youths' confidence, increase their self-esteem, and to provide the financial security necessary to make a transition to adulthood a success. |
