Mareesa joined Spectrum in September 2021 as a Youth Coach for the St. Albans Drop-in Center. Prior to Spectrum she worked in an Academic Support program for first-generation and low-income college students. She also worked as an English
teacher and house counselor at a Boarding school in Massachusetts. Both of these roles solidified her belief that at the heart of youth development and success is connection and belonging.
Mareesa received her M.A. in English from the Literature and Social Justice program at Lehigh University where she also earned graduate certificates in Women & Gender Studies and Africana Studies.
In her free time she enjoys painting, reading, and learning new crafts.
