Julia Blanding

Residential Staff

Julia started at Spectrum in November 2020 in the Supported Housing Program. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 2018 with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in music. In college, she was a part of UVM’s Outing Club where she  got her American Canoe Association Instructor’s certification and her Wilderness First Responder Certification.

During her senior year at UVM, she interned and worked per diem shifts at Lund Family Center where she worked with young children and their parents who struggle with mental health and addiction problems. After graduation she started working there as a full time overnight staff. She then went on to work full time at Northeastern Family Institute’s Hospital Diversion Program with teenagers in crisis. She also subbed at their Group Home which was more long term care for teens struggling with their mental health. She then moved you Pathways Vermont to their support line and as a sub at their Soteria House focusing mainly on adults experiencing psychosis.

Occasionally she volunteers at Vermont English Bulldog Rescue from which she adopted her dog, Bunker.

In her free time, she loves outdoor activities (nature walks, biking, canoeing, camping, skiing) and creative activities (knitting, guitar, viola, singing, crafting, makeup art), but during downtime at work you can usually catch me with a crossword puzzle!
