Faith has a dynamic and extensive blend of administrative and direct service experience among several organizations in Chittenden County. Faith’s diversity of experiences contributes to her unique perspective on social service provision in our community. Most relevant to Faith’s potential role on the Spectrum Youth and Family Services’ Board of Directors is Faith’s thirteen years of work experience in social services. Faith began her career at Spectrum Youth and Family Services, providing crisis management, oversight, and support to youth living at the Shelter. She later held a position providing supportive services to adults at the Committee on Temporary Shelter (COTS). In addition to this work, Faith provided administrative support for several years in the Medication Assisted Treatment facility at the Chittenden Clinic. These responsibilities included managing the wait list for treatment, coordinating intakes, completing assessments, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations for medication distribution.
Faith recently transitioned back into housing work with the Burlington Housing Authority (BHA) and has been with the organization for over six years. She currently holds a position within the employment incentive program, Family Self Sufficiency, which supports Section 8 participants in acquiring and maintaining education and employment goals over a five-year period. This position entails job coaching, navigation of area resources, education of financial literacy, and guidance in breeching the “benefits cliff” to achieve self-sufficiency. Prior to this position Faith worked as a Supportive Housing Service Coordinator in BHA’s transitional living program, Dettman Place, for adults returning to housing after a period of incarceration or homelessness. The position at Dettman Place was an intensive direct service position providing wrap around services for residents, coordinating referrals, offering supportive counseling, and providing guidance in maintaining housing and increasing prosocial recreational activities.
