Alayna began working at Spectrum in July 2021 as the Burlington Drop-In Center’s Resource Coordinator. She works closely with youth and community partners to provide useful connections and resources unique to each person’s needs. She focuses on assisting our youth who utilize Drop-In services with determining their goals and accessing housing, healthcare, employment, education and support networks.
Prior to Spectrum she served three years in AmeriCorps programs in both Vermont and Colorado that focused on youth development, mentoring and school attendance. She also worked in public schools and community mental health centers as a clinical social worker. In her work she focuses on the bio-psychosocial model with a specific emphasis on self-determination, adolescent neurological development and social justice.
Alayna completed her BA at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she studied Journalism & Gender Studies and completed her MSW at Smith School for Social Work. She is currently working towards becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
She enjoys spending time in nature, with close friends, listening to live music, reading memoirs and trying out new crafts.
