Shanna Perry

Shanna started working for Spectrum In November of 2021 at the Warming Shelter. She hopes to have the opportunity to help Spectrum youth learn mechanisms to determine what success means to them and to how to achieve it.  Shanna has always wanted to work in the human services field.

She started her post-secondary education at McMaster university in hopes of getting a degree in neuropsychology (PNB) with a minor in biochemistry with hopes of becoming a psychiatrist. Shortly after starting her second year at Mcmaster Shanna’s mom was diagnosed with liver failure and she chose to leave school and help care for her.  After her mom passed away,  Shanna began taking classes at the community college of Vermont and obtained an associate degree in Liberal studies. She plans to return to school in the near future to obtain a bachelor’s, and eventually a master’s degree in social work with the end goal of becoming a licensed social worker. In the meantime, she hopes to work where she can spend her days making a difference in the lives of those who need it.

Shanna has a husband, three dogs,  two cats, and plans to start raising chickens in the spring! She enjoys Rural life and spends her free time training and caring for animals, going on hikes, teaching her dogs how to sled-pull, meditating, playing video games, camping, and assorted other outdoor activities.

Shanna has a deep love for spectrum and all that is stands for and is extremely grateful for the opportunity to play even a small part in this great community of people who want to make a difference in the lives of those who need it.
