Youth Coach – Drop-In (Burlington, FT)

Are you passionate about empowering youth and making a meaningful difference in your community? Join our Basic Needs Program in Burlington at the Drop-In Center as a Youth Coach.

In this role, you are an important part of the Drop-In’s community, you’ll help youth access food and shelter, achieve stability, take steps to heal from trauma, and accomplish their goals. Youth Coaches are expected to participate in regular and ongoing individual and group supervision to address program development needs, care coordination for youth, and professional development needs and goals. This is a full time nonexempt position; the hours are Wednesdays 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm & Thursday – Sunday 9:00 am-6:00 pm and pays $21.00 per hour.

We offer a competitive hourly wage of $21.00 with a $4.00 shift differential and a robust benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance; HRA; short-term and long-term disability coverage; accrued vacation and unlimited health leave; and a 403(b) retirement plan.

Youth Coach – Youth Shelter (St. Albans, PT)

In this role, you’ll be a beacon of hope and stability for youth aged 18-24, helping them achieve their goals and heal from past trauma. As a vital part of our shelter community, you’ll support youth in everything from job and housing searches to life skills development. You’ll foster a safe and engaging environment while maintaining clear communication with staff and ensuring accurate documentation.

Two Part time positions available, please specify which shift you are applying for:

Case Manager – Nightly Shelter (Burlington)

Do you want to support young people as they move from crisis and instability toward safety, connection, and long-term housing?

Join our Basic Needs team as the Nightly Shelter Case Manager. In this role, you’ll provide flexible, youth-centered case management to young adults ages 18–25 who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability and accessing Spectrum’s Nightly Shelter.

The Nightly Shelter Case Manager reports to the Director of Basic Needs and is responsible for providing flexible case management to youth accessing the shelter. They will provide case management and support to youth through assessments, care team coordination, case planning, and access to housing, healthcare and other benefits for youth experiencing homelessness or housing instability ages 18-25. Case management services will emphasize accessing housing, jobs, education, and mental health support. The ability to multitask, collaborate, be flexible, maintain attention to detail, and complete paperwork in a timely manner is essential to this position. The Case Manager, in coordination with the Nightly Shelter Coordinator, works closely with a team of direct service staff in our program and is expected to communicate closely and often with them, and to support their use of appropriate interventions working with the clients. The Nightly Shelter Case Manager will also offer extended care case management to youth living in 4 scattered site apartment units in downtown Burlington, to support housing retention and prevent a return to unsheltered homelessness.

The Nightly Shelter Case Manager is expected to participate in the program’s on-call system rotation after hours, with an anticipated cadence of one week every 6-7 weeks, or as needed. This is a nonexempt position with an hourly wage of $25.48 – $29.33 based on experience, plus shift differential.

Graduate-Level Internship

Spectrum Youth and Family Services is offering internship opportunities for graduate-level students in social work or a related field for the 2026-2027 school year. Interns will be placed within a program based on their experience, skills, and interests with programs such as Basic Needs or the Compass Program. Interns will have the opportunity to engage in direct service delivery, case management, program development, and therapeutic interventions for youth and families experiencing housing instability, mental health challenges, or other barriers. This internship provides a valuable opportunity for students to develop clinical skills and deepen their understanding of social work practice in a dynamic, community-focused environment.

Spectrum Youth and Family Services is offering internship opportunities for graduate-level students in social work or a related field for the 2026-2027 school year. Interns will be placed within a program based on their experience, skills, and interests with programs such as Basic Needs or the Youth Development Program. Interns will have the opportunity to learn about, shadow, and engage in direct service delivery, case management and program development for youth and families experiencing housing instability, mental health challenges, or other barriers. This internship provides a valuable opportunity for students to develop skills, an understanding of the system of care, and deepen their understanding of providing support in this field.

Applicants should be prepared to work collaboratively with clients, staff, and community partners, supporting clients through engagement and intervention. Some placements may require reliable transportation, with travel costs reimbursed. This internship is ideal for students eager to apply their academic knowledge to real-world challenges.

This position provides support for youth staying in the Nightly Shelter. As an important part of this community, you’ll help youth achieve housing stability, heal from trauma, and accomplish their goals. Staff will model effective, appropriate, and timely communication with others regarding resident updates. Timely and accurate completion of record keeping is also essential to this position.

This is a weekend overnight shift; Saturday and Sunday 1:30 am – 9:30 am. It is an awake position; staff are expected to be awake during the entire shift. The Nightly Shelter Youth Coach is expected to participate in ongoing supervision and group supervision to address personal and programmatic development goals, care coordination, and training needs. We offer a competitive hourly wage of $21.00 with a $4.00 shift differential.

Youth Coach – Drop-In Center (Burlington, PT)
