Youth Coach – Youth Shelter (St. Albans)

About Us:
We are a forward-thinking supported housing program dedicated to helping young people heal, grow, and achieve their goals. Our team is passionate about making a lasting impact, and we’re looking for someone equally inspired to join us in this rewarding journey. This position is located in St. Albans, VT.

Overnight shift: Sat-Sun: 1:30a-9:30a (2 staff) $21/hr + $4/hr shift differential

What You’ll Do:
As a Youth Coach in Spectrum’s newest Youth Shelter, you will provide encouragement and guidance to help residents meet daily routines and milestones outlined in their service plans. You will accompany residents on meaningful activities such as job searches, volunteer opportunities, and recreational outings, fostering growth and independence. Administering medications responsibly and ensuring adherence to care plans is also an essential part of this role.

In addition to working directly with residents, you will maintain accurate and timely records. This includes documenting client progress, critical incidents, and other important information. Administrative tasks, such as managing timesheets, completing expense reports, and staying up-to-date with daily communications, are also key responsibilities.

Collaboration is central to this position. You will share regular updates about resident progress, medication management, and other critical information with your team. Participation in weekly staff meetings and bi-weekly supervision sessions is expected, fostering a cohesive and supportive team environment. You will also play a role in training new staff and contribute ideas to enhance and improve the program.

 What You Bring:
We are looking for someone with a high school diploma, though a bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. At least one year of experience working with at-risk youth in a residential or similar setting is essential. You should have a strong understanding of adolescent development, including mental health challenges, trauma, substance abuse, and life skills such as budgeting and employment preparation.

Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to set boundaries are critical for this role. We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and value respect for all backgrounds and identities. Adherence to organizational ethics, policies, and procedures is expected. Must have reliable transportation. A valid driver’s license is preferred but not required.

Respite Staff (St. Albans)

Looking for an opportunity to supplement your income while working with our amazing youth, then we want you!

Become a member of our Respite team who covers shifts for part and full time Basic Needs Staff and assume their overall responsibilities. They are responsible for the overall safety of program residents and management of the supported housing facility. Staff are expected to be an active part of a team and model effective, appropriate, and timely communication with others regarding client updates.

These positions have an immediate start date for training, however, is on an as needed basis once trained. They are nonexempt positions with a base hourly wage of $21.00, with a possible shift differential of $2.00 or $4.00, depending on shift covering. These positions are located in St Albans, VT.

Youth Coach – Nightly Shelter (Burlington, PT)

Are you passionate about empowering youth and making a meaningful difference in your community? Join our Supported Housing team as a Youth Coach!

This position provides support for youth staying in the Nightly Shelter. As an important part of this community, you’ll help youth achieve housing stability, heal from trauma, and accomplish their goals. Staff will model effective, appropriate, and timely communication with others regarding resident updates. Timely and accurate completion of record keeping is also essential to this position. The permanent part time weekend position consist of Saturday and Sundays 1:30 am – 9:30 am. It is an awake position; staff are expected to be awake during the entire shift. The Youth Coach is expected to participate in ongoing supervision and group supervision to address personal and programmatic development goals, care coordination, and training needs. We offer a competitive hourly wage of $21.00 with a $4.00 shift differential

Youth Coach – Drop-In Center (Burlington, PT)

Are you passionate about empowering youth and making a meaningful difference in your community? Join our Basic Needs Program at the Drop-In Center as a Youth Coach.

In this role, you are an important part of the Drop-In’s community, you’ll help youth access food and shelter, achieve stability, take steps to heal from trauma, and accomplish their goals. Youth Coaches are expected to participate in regular and ongoing individual and group supervision to address program development needs, care coordination for youth, and professional development needs and goals. The shifts for this 24 hour a week position is 12:00 – 6:00 pm on Friday, and 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Saturday and Sunday. We offer a competitive hourly wage of $21.00 per hour with a $2.00 shift differential.

Youth Development Coordinator

Are you ready to support youth as they build independence and plan for their future?

Spectrum Youth & Family Services is seeking a Youth Development Coordinator to join our Youth Development Program (YDP). In this role, you’ll manage a caseload of up to 25 youth, walking alongside them as they set goals, develop plans, and connect with the resources and relationships they need to thrive. You’ll help them access housing, education, jobs, healthcare, and life-long supportive connections—while also opening doors to leadership opportunities, financial supports, and community engagement that set them up for long-term success.

This is a full time exempt position with a salary range of $45,000 – $55,000 and is eligible for an excellent benefits package; including health, HRA, dental, vision, life insurance, STD, LTD, accrued vacation, unlimited health leave, and a 403(b) retirement plan.

Mentoring Associate (Burlington, PT)

Are you passionate about helping young people build meaningful, supportive relationships?

Spectrum Youth & Family Services is seeking a Mentoring Associate to join our dedicated Mentoring team. In this role, you’ll help create and support meaningful mentoring relationships that empower youth to reach their full potential. This is a part time position consisting of 30 hours per week, paying $21.00 per hour, and eligible for an excellent benefits package. Availability between 3:00pm and 7:00pm is consistently necessary Monday through Friday. Weekend hours are frequently required for match activities and recruitment tasks.

You’ll work closely with the Director of Mentoring to deliver high-quality programming and provide direct support to mentors, mentees, and their parents or guardians. You’ll ensure every mentoring match has the tools, guidance, and encouragement they need to thrive.

The Mentoring Associate also helps strengthen and grow the program by assisting with mentor recruitment, training, and community partnerships. You’ll play an important role in keeping the program aligned with the Elements of Effective Practice, the national gold standard in youth mentoring, and in meeting grant goals through data collection and ongoing program evaluation.

Chief Program Officer

The Chief Program Officer (CPO) will lead our Basic Needs programs including Housing in Burlington and St. Albans, and provide collaborative oversight of all agency direct service programs.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CPO serves as a key member of Spectrum’s leadership team, ensuring that programs are mission-aligned, trauma-informed, and consistently delivering high-quality outcomes for youth and families. The CPO provides strategic direction, supervision, and cross-program coordination to foster collaboration, accountability, and innovation across the agency.

This role is ideal for a seasoned leader who combines strong management experience with a deep understanding of youth development, housing, and social services systems. This is a full time exempt position with an annual salary range of $95,000 – $110,000. Please provide a cover letter and resume by October 31, to be considered for this position.

Director of Operations

Are you a systems thinker who’s passionate about helping mission-driven organizations run smoothly and effectively?

The Director of Operations will provide both strategic and hands-on leadership across the organization’s operational infrastructure, including facilities management, information technology, and administrative systems. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position ensures that Spectrum’s facilities, equipment, and technologies operate safely, efficiently, and in alignment with our mission to empower youth and families. The Director of Operations will supervise the Building Maintenance, Custodial, and Executive Administrative Assistant positions, and serve as the primary liaison for Spectrum’s contracted IT help desk and other key vendors.

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented, solutions-focused leader who thrives on improving systems, optimizing resources, and supporting the essential work of our programs and staff. This is a full time exempt position with an annual salary range of $60,000 – $75,000. Please provide a cover letter and resume by November 15th, to be considered for this position.

Drop-in Center Food Coordinator

This position is part of the Vermont Housing & Conservation Board AmeriCorps (VHCB AmeriCorps). The VHCB AmeriCorps program supports the innovative dual-goal approach to creating stable affordable housing opportunities for Vermont residents while preserving the natural and working landscape. VHCB AmeriCorps is a national service program that places members with non-profit housing or land conservation organizations around the state. Serving on the front lines of community-based organizations, VHCB AmeriCorps members energize, engage, and empower residents to address unmet needs at the local level, collectively creating positive change and building a healthy future for Vermont.
