The Catamount Community Clinic offers free in-person mental health counseling just off Church Street in Burlington. The clinic works with children, teenagers, young adults, adults, older adults, families, and couples for both short- and long-term durations.
The Clinic is a partnership between Spectrum Youth and Family Services and the University of Vermont Counseling Program. Services are provided by counselors-in-training from UVM’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling master’s program under the supervision of a licensed clinical supervisor.
This collaboration was born in response to the persistent and growing need of mental health services in Chittenden County, and to reduce barriers between the Burlington community members and access points to care.
The Clinic interns and their supervisors each have individual interests, expertise and scope of practice – including family therapy, individual counseling and a wider range of ages and presenting concerns. See below for intern bios.
The Catamount Community Clinic is a sibling to Riverstone Counseling, our full-service outpatient level 1 Dept of Substance Use Preferred Provider. Clients seeking substance use assessments and treatment for alcohol and drugs, gender affirming care, specialized trauma services such as EMDR and general mental health counseling and family therapy can contact Riverstone.
